What can I use the workspace generator for?
The workspace generator has two purposes
- Generate a site
- Generate multiple sites
The need to regenerate a site may be a scenario you encounter if the user has filled out a main list entry form containing corrupted data or, similarly, has added a corrupt entry from the grid view function.
Generating a series of sites is normally a scenario in the system implementation phase. System administrators may want to import a group of list entries from Microsoft Excel or a similar program. This is usually done using the Windows clipboard function (Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V) and the grid view function in the main list.
How do I recognize if a main list entry has not been generated?
If a list item is missing a unique ID and/or workspace link icon.
How can I fix the problem with a workspace that is not created correctly?
The first thing you need to do is check the registration form for missing or corrupted data.

Tip: Always check person picker fields, date fields with incorrect formatting, and the use of special characters and symbols.
Navigate to the admin hub and find the Generate Workspace function. Select the affected hub and list, then select the view where you can easily find the defective item.
Select the item and press Run. In a few minutes, the page will be restored and normal work can resume.
I have imported a list of entries and want to generate workspaces
The first step is to confirm that none of the items have corrupted or missing data (required fields).

SharePoint will indicate if a required field is missing values.
Be careful with date fields as SharePoint may use US date formats when the date picker is used manually in grid view. MM-DD-YYYY.
The second step. Navigate to the admin hub and find the Generate Workspace function. Select the affected hub and list, then select the view where you can easily find the batch of items.

For better control over items without a workspace, it is recommended to create a list view and use appropriate filters.
Select the items and press Queue. The pages are now placed in a queue and scheduled to start batch generation at 03:30 (CET) the following day.

It is recommended not to run batches with more than 100 list items at a time. The system limit threshold is 150 items.
